An update on where we’re headed, and why you’ll want to join us.
Back in February 2022 - my partner [now wife] and I introduced Take Up Space into the world, via tweet. At the time, our vision was to onboard, educate and empower diverse leaders - using NFTs to crowdfund our initiatives.
Since that fateful tweet, we began to cultivate a small but mighty community who aligned with that vision. We also launched an NFT collection, partnered with MoonPay and consulted for Google, all while promoting one key message: we all deserve to take up space, as our most authentic selves.
While proud of the impact we had started to create, it was far from straightforward. Despite our best efforts, we lacked capital. Kicking off the bear market with our mint, our NFT collection hadn’t even come close to selling out even with support from our most bullish Changemakers…This meant our big plans in the roadmap were put on hold.
We could have packed up, but instead we dug in our heels - working hard to provide value to our community and ship what we could with limited funding. We hosted countless Twitter Spaces, sourced & interviewed incredible guests, launched the TUS Pod and shipped a free web3 course.

We showed up, day in, day out. And something curious started to emerge…
A thread formed that started to connect everything. From community, to the conversations, to the future we wanted to see in the world. Yes, the world needs more diverse leaders, but actually… it’s bigger then that. I began to reflect on my own personal story… After growing up with zero representation in media, I was finally able to step into my power when I found my people and began to tell my story.
We pulled on that thread. What if storytelling was our true purpose? We were already creating spaces of healing as our community came together to tell their stories… Already curating insightful panels… What if we could create a platform to tell stories of impact?
And, as we dug further into the web3 ethos of co-creation and co-ownership as part of the Seed Club #SC05 accelerator, things began to click at a rapid rate. We began to ask the question: what would the world look like if we told [and owned] our own stories?

Stories connect us. Media shapes the stories that we tell ourselves. They have the power to bring us together or tear us apart. By combining the power of decentralisation with the power of media, we can explore a world where we can tell and OWN our own stories.
In phase 1, we will experiment with decentralisation across the production phase, while distributing via traditional web2 media channels. Our content will amplify diverse voices and creators across video, audio & written publications. Eventually, we plan on launching our own web3 connected platform.
